HydroAidTM
HydroAid is recommended to meet the increased electrolyte needs of the equine athlete. Training, traveling, hot conditions and stress deplete electrolytes and increase requirements. HydroAid replenishes these electrolytes along with water- soluble vitamins and easily absorbable carbohydrates to prevent cramping and dehydration.
HydroAid - How can it help?
HydoAid has a unique action which not only reduces the loss of solute nutrients, but also influences the overall metabolism of an exhausted horse for rapid restoration and stabilization of performance capacity.
HydroAid provides:
Mineral salts that are required for the intracelluar and extracellular body fluids
Essential vitamins and minerals that are lost in the sweating process
Replenishment of soluble B complex vitamins that play and important role in metabolic energy
A source of easily absorbable carbohydrates that help replenish glycogen stores post-exercise.
HydroAid Oral Gel
HydroAid Gel is a concentrated apple-flavored electrolyte gel that supplies the key electolytes in the most effective ratio for absorption.
Did you know...?
Feed normally supplies electrolytes and the kidneys do the balancing. When there is a moderate electrolyte imbalance it may take 2-3 days to bring the system into balance again. However, if there is an imbalance in the body's electrolytes and only water is given, the electrolyte imbalance can become worse in the short-term.
When training hard, electrolytes should be given daily
Electrolyte replacement should approximate the losses in sweat
Electrolytes that are lost are mainly Na, Cl, K (Ca,Mg) in ratios of 2:2:1
Free access to water should always be available when giving electrolytes
HydroAid Oral Gel replaces the electrolytes lost in sweat.
HydroAid Oral Gel also contains a form of easily aborbed carbohydrate/energy.
Ideally, electrolytes should be replaced immediately after intense exercise for maximum effect.
Recommended: Give 2 ozs immediately after exercise, ensuring that water is freely available. 2 ozs can then be given 6 hours later. Each HyrdoAid syringe contains 2 ozs.
For daily use, HydroAid powder is more suitable.
